Hi!

We are almost ready to send our application for my K1 visa.

My biggest concern now though is - Will they contact my current employer? As I haven't told them about this yet, I wanted to wait for a little while.

I might worry for no reason but another thing is that I apply from a country which I am not a citizen in.

To my knowledge they do not contact your emloyer.

You are the USC but working in another country where you're on a work visa/sponsored?

Are you going to be moving back to the U.S?

That's what everyone tells me but most people seem to have applied in their birth countries.

I have never lived in the US, me and my fiancé only visit each other when we can.

I am a citizen of a EU country and I live and work in another EU country so I need no visa or permit for that.

If I get issued the k1 visa then yes, I'll live with my fiancé (then husband) in USA.

They do not contact employers. They probably do not even care about that at all so don't worry, they will ask about that stuff on the interview though (if you work or nah) :) I have a friend that is from a different country and had her interview in UAE, everything worked out fine for her. :) It will be for you too. Good luck!

Gotcha. Well for your fiance they mainly care later on about his financial stability in the US, not about yours really

Thanks a lot! The whole thing is so nerv wrecking x)

I just don't want my employers to be upset or think that I would not be honest with them (I live at work as well so it doesn't make it easier for me)

You're welcome. Just be patient as it will take a lot of waiting for the approvals but it will come. When the interview comes just be honest. Good luck on your journey!
