I am about to send money to my fiance in the Philippines for her visa fees. The traveldocs website receipt says its 12720php, which comes to $290 at the exchange rate of 44php to the dollar. If she pays in dollars at BPI will they give her the 48php to the dollar for the exchange rate to equal the $265?

A quick reply is requested as to the receipt she printed will be only valid for a couple more days.

Thanks ahead for your time and reply.

Whenever I send my wife money, I always send her what she needs plus a little extra as I know she will find a way to use it.

Send her $300+ and make her happy.

I dont think that's right. BPI accepts only PHP for US Visa payments.

If she trades her USD to BPI, the rate isnt 48php per dollar. Dollar value had crashed and as per September 8, 2016, BPI buys 1 usd for 46.41Php.

"Although fees are listed in U.S. dollars, payment must be made using local currency. You can pay your fee at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) or, if you are an account holder at Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) or BancNet, you can pay online. ."

In this case, using pesos, the price is the price. So no matter what the exchange rate is that's the exchange rate. She can "shop" your dollars around town for the best rate. USEM doesn't care what your exchange rate is nor does the bank.
