Only last 2 years of Tax Return for I-864ez

Hello,

Can someone please help me with I-864 query?

I-864 asks for last 3 years of tax returns, but I only have last 2 years of tax return and my current income is more than sufficient to sponsor my wife. The reason for not having 3rd year's tax return is that I didn't earn any income and my parents claimed me as a dependent. So is this going to be an issue? do I need to submit any additional documents? And for the questions where it asked if I filed tax return for 3 years, should I put yes or no?

put it down anyways. it will not be an issue I only had 2 years of returns when I applied for a k1. they care about current income more than what you made 3 years ago.

Do you meant put yes for the question if I have filed tax return for last 3 years?

if you made money above a certain threshold you should have filed taxes. if you did not make over that threshold still put down what you made and add a note saying you were not required to file taxes because you were under the mark. being declared as a dependent of someone else is irrelevant to filing taxes. but for the form only submitting the last two years of returns is ok and just add a note as to why you were not required to file the third year.

Okay, thank you. I will do that. For the question, should I say, Yes I filed tax return for each or last 3 tax year or should I say No and include that in explaination?

if you filed taxes you say you did if you didn't you say no. either way you need to put how much you made. if you realize you should of filed but didn't then file now.
