Ok so this is interesting . apparently in CA green card holders are eligible for medi-cal, and its not considered a " public charge"

However, when reading about medi-cal It states that if you are over 55 they can come after your "estate" to recover costs. My question is this. Is MY estate, now my parents estate because of the I-864?

I would much prefer for them to be enrolled in the open market,but I dont think it will allow us because of their income.

Are you dead? The estate of a person is their assets left after their death.

That said it's in theory it's possible that the government comes after you for the Medi-Cal coverage costs of your parents because of the I-864. It's also unlikely.
