NOA 1 to NOA 2 Timeline

I got the NOA2 almost 3 months to the day. I initially mailed the application to Texas but it was transferred to the California service center. Hopefully you'll be getting yours any day now!

After you get your NOA2, wait 2 weeks and call the NVC to get your MNL number, and start the embassy interview process. It may take longer for them to process your application, but it shouldn't be more than 4 weeks.

Good luck!

Thank you adam2dot0 for your inputs and help.

My fiance and I are hoping USCIS will approve our visa application in 3 months time or much earlier just like your case and other VJ member's case. We are still praying.

Best of luck and God bless to all of us.

Small detail here; your petition never got transferred to the CSC. You have send the petition to the Texas Lockbox, Lewisville (which is not a service center) and they will send it to a service center. Previously that was the Texas Service Center.

"uscis process petition on first come first serve basis"

NO. Because every case is different. If the agent enters your information for a background check and some thing comes up, but a different applications has their's coming back with a full report that can be evaluated. Once the agent completes their case it's sent on while the agent is still waiting on your information to come back. That information may take a day, a week or month(s) to return. In the meantime the agent keeps processing other case while waiting for your file to be updated. Nothing is guaranteed in this process.

I'm waiting on my wife's ROC and it normally takes 6 months but right now it looks like it will be a year. Everyone in California are processing within normal times but not Vermont. Is it unfair YES. Can I do anything about it? NO.

Is it possible for the agent to start to work on a petition without a "touch"? Should the last updated column change when an agent gets a file to start working it?

I think the frustration is files are not even being "touched" in order. Unless the touch discussion is now obsolete.

USCIS approved our case last August 24, 2016 (91 days after NOA 1). We are still waiting for them to send us our NOA 2.

Do you have an idea how many days will it take for USCIS to send the NOA 2.

Thanks.
