Security Name Checks

I just thought it was funny when I noticed how many "FBI Namechecks, fingerprints, etc...they do repeatedly throughout the immigration process....

Prior to ever having a visa interview, our fiances/spouses are checked on lots of security levels w/ fbi namechecks, border system checks, etc. and most are eventually even fingerprinted at the consulate during their visa interview.....

And then when it comes time to adjust status, your fiance/spouse gets the biometric fingerprint appointment and yet another fbi namecheck ran on their names.....

I mean how many name checks and fingerprints are really necessary? I would think that once you get the visa, they have already determined you are good to go for adjustment....(yes, I know not always the situation, but the majority) Just seemed funny to me.

I have a friend who is working for Homeland Security and they don't want the same mistakes happen like the ones prior to 9/11. Double checking and triple checking it seems.

you just dont know nothing about security in America my friend. They can change the identity of a person through those processes .

How are we to know who is in the majority, and who has gone over to the minority, if we don't check everyone again?

Well first of all I am of course American and understand the security needs for our country....I also agree they can check and should check individuals thoroughly. Its definitely possible that if a person had a smooth check once through the system, they could possibly do something after the original check that would pull up on a second or third check as a red flag........

Anyways, I think that we all know that security checks are good and serve a purpose....

I'm fine with the checks at first glance. What really irritates me is the fact that our fiances have to go through all these countless background checks (and pay a whole lot for them too) meanwhile there are 15 MILLION UNDOCUMENTED people running around. Both very scary and very unfair. Again our government could check, detain, or deport most of those 15 million but they don't. One reason, why? Money. How many lobbyists does the meatpacking or homebuilding industry have in Washington? How many do I have? Translation? I gotta pay $2,000 + for my sweet girl to come over while they get to exploit virtually unlimited cheap labor.

I can agree that security checks are very needed in the world as it is today.

I have to say it bugs me a lot less though to stand in a line for two hours trying to get through security at an airport as long as I don't miss my flight than it does to spend months waiting while they do an A/R when there is absolutely no reason to do an A/R
