Forgot to quote the article:

Real estate mogul and Grand Old Party presidential nominee Donald Trump has lumped the Philippines among “terrorist nations” from where people should be denied entry to the United States during his anti-immigration speech in Maine.
During a rally in Portland, Maine, Trump said immigrants from “terrorist nations” should not be allowed entry into the United States because they would not be vetted by the government beforehand.
“We are letting people come in from terrorist nations that shouldn’t be allowed because you can’t vet them. You have no idea who they are. This could be the great Trojan horse of all time,” he said at the rally.

It has always mystified me as to why (and how) so many K-1 visas are handed out like candy to applicants from this developing country ("third-world," if you will) in comparison to other poor countries. None of the explanations offered so far are persuasive.

Because Obama is Muslim and loves terrorists?

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

Mind you, not every Muslim is a terrorist nor are they plotting terrorism against America and not everyone in the Philippines are Muslims nor are they terrorists. You need to know a lot more before you comment on that.

I wouldn't say handed out like candies, obviously you have not been there so you don't know how hard it actually is to obtain a visa in the Philippines. It just so happens more and more Americans prefer the Filipina lovin..:)

My apologies Olivia, the statement was satire meant to highlight the folly of Trumps statement, though some in this forum would literally believe that in most cases Muslims would choose violent means first and that banning all Muslims is practical, legal , constitutional and moral.

I have traveled most of the Phillipines and understand some of the complex layers of ethnicity and culture of the Islands. I have even met a few former Muslim rebels in Mindanao and in no way do I think Phillipinos or Muslims deserve Trumps fearmongering.
