NOA2 recieved now what??

ok i got my NOA2 now what. there is so much out there it gets confusing. i called the NVC and they told me that havent recieved my case yet, and that all they do is assign a case number, a IIN, and then send it along to the embassy. so assuming this is correct once i have the case number the NVC in new hampshire is done. now we are dealing with the emabassy in santo domingo. so here a few questions.

1. can she fill out the DS_160 now or wait for the case number? is the DS_160 in english only? or is it spanish also?

2. can she set up the appt for her medical exam now or wait for case number?

3. i have many of the documents she will need for the interview what is the best way to get them to her? they dont really have a mail systm there other than fed ex and such. which one is best and safest way since many documents have lots of personal information( birth certificates and such).

4. she has kids we are filing K2 also at the same time but un sure about costs of them for thier visa? according to one lawyer i talked with other than the visa cost 265 per since they are miners they will fall under her costs. i dont think this is true but not sure and just want to know the total cost of everything to plan. i know the medical exam is 2000 pesos per person, what else is per person?

5. it looks like she can do most everythimg online, rather than thru the mail. is it in spanish also her english is very limeted?

6. should i go back for her interview? does it make a huge diffreance in approvel?

7. my NOA2 has a dates on it that the visa is good from x date till x date? is this a timeline for how long the emabssey has to get things approved?

feeling over welmed at tmes so much out there and with added K2 it just adds more questions that i need answers for. just trying to plan best i can for all costs, appointments, and to be pro active, i dont like waiting forever.

It'll take a week or more for CSC to send your case to NVC and then another few days for NVC to process it/ assign a number. Call back next week and check again. You can't do most of the next major steps without your NVC case number.

1. I believe that you can fill out as much of the DS160 as possible without the case number (DR uses a different website than Costa Rica but I don't believe you need a case number to begin that form in either case). The questions are in English but before you begin the form, they let you choose your language. Then, when you hover your mouse over the questions, you get a translation. All typed answers must be in English, though (most are yes/no but sometimes you need to explain). We filled it out together, remotely, and then his friend who is fluent in English and Spanish double checked before submitting. ***Be sure to note the "application ID number"... write it down. That's what you'll need to access it again***

2. Pretty sure you need a case number before getting an appointment for medicals.

3. She doesn't need your birth cert for the interview. She needs an I-134 from you and some supplements to support your claim of income (which, yes, can also be sensitive in nature). You can see if DHL has a place where she can pick them up there. Not for nothing, you may want to consider attending this appointment if at all possible.

4. Not sure about this-- I was under the impression they each have their own DS 160 filing fee and medical fees.

5. For the most part, yes.

6. If at ALL possible, yes. And yes it can make a difference and I've read here, several times, that the embassy in DR especially seems to "want" to see the petitioner there.

7. Sort of.. it's mostly how long you have to interview. It likely won't take that long and if it does (because of the government, not you), they'll extend the validity. It's so that people can't apply with a squeaky clean record and then 2 years later after... whatever (becoming a drug runner, going to some ISIS training camp as extreme examples) still get an interview. Remember, this first part was with the Department of Homeland Security and this second part is with the State Department. They need to sort of set time limits for what they think is acceptable mostly between each other.

Marriage/ AOS Timeline:

23 Dec 2015: Legal marriage

23 Jan 2016: Wedding!

23 Jan 2016: "Blizzard of the Century", wedding canceled/rescheduled (thank goodness we were legally married first or we'd have had a big problem!) :sleepy:

24 Jan 2016: Small "civil ceremony" with friends and family who were snowed in with us. December was a bit of a secret and people had traveled internationally and knew we *had* to get married that weekend, and our December legal marriage was nothing but signing a piece of paper at our priest's kitchen table, without any sort of vows etc so this was actually a very special (if not legally significant) day. (L)

16 Apr 2016: Filed for AOS and EAD/AP (We delayed a bit-- no big rush, enjoying the USCIS break)

23 Apr 2016: Wedding! Finally! :luv:

27 Apr 2016: Electronic NOA1 for all 3 :dancing:
29 Apr 2016: NOA1 Hardcopy for all 3
29 Jul 2016: Online service request for late EAD (Day 104)
29 Jul 2016: EAD/AP Approved ~3 hours after online service request
04 Aug 2016: RFE for Green Card (requested medicals/ vaccination record. They already have it). :ranting:
05 Aug 2016: EAD/AP Combo Card arrived! (Day 111)
08 Aug 2016: Congressional constituent request to get guidance on the RFE. Hoping they see they have the form and approve!

K-1 Visa Timeline:

PLEASE NOTE. This timeline was during the period of time when TSC was working on I-129fs and had a huge backlog. The average processing time was 210+ days. This is in no way predictive of your own timeline if you filed during or after April 2015, unless CSC develops a backlog. A backlog is anything above the 5-month goal time listed on USCIS's site

14 Feb 2015: Mailed I-129f to Dallas Lockbox. (L) (Most expensive Valentine's card I've ever sent!)

17 Feb 2015: NOA1 "Received Date"
19 Feb 2015: NOA1 Notice Date
08 Aug 2015: NOA2 email! :luv: (173 days from NOA1)

17 Aug 2015: Sent to NVC

?? Aug 2015: Arrived at NVC

25 Aug 2015: NVC Case # Assigned

31 Aug 2015: Left NVC for Consulate in San Jose

09 Sep 2015: Consulate received :dancing: (32 days from NOA2)

11 Sep 2015: Packet 3 emailed from embassy to me, the petitioner (34 days from NOA2).

18 Sep 2015: Medicals complete

21 Sep 2015: Packet 3 complete, my boss puts a temporary moratorium on all time off due to work emergency :clock:

02 Oct 2015: Work emergency clears up, interview scheduled (soonest available was 5 business days away--Columbus Day was in there)

13 Oct 2015: Interview

13 Oct 2015: VISA APPROVED  (236 days from NOA1)

19 Oct 2015: Visa-in-hand

24 Oct 2015: POE !

15 Dec 2015: Fiance's mother's B-2 visa interview: APPROVED! So happy she will be at the wedding!

Filed: IR-1/CR-1 Visa Country: Ecuador
Timeline

Wait for the case number and then pay the necessary fee online to do the DS 160

Don't do the medical until you know for sure about date of interview, if you are awarded the visa, the date of expiration is 6 months from medical exam

If you want to go back to support her emotionally for interview, take the documents then

most embassies will not allow you in for the interview

some do, but when space is limited, they may say no

she will pay the visa fee at embassy if visa is granted

she will also need to have her crimianal investigation reports for interview

A few things have changed since we did interview so check your embassy site for needed documetns, list of doctors, etc,

It is best if you go to ver interview trust me there will be a big chance they refuse her visa if you dont go. Muy hisband had to pay 190 dollars for his medical and he didn't make an appointment its usually first come first serve. Yes the kids have to pay their medical exams seperatly but the actual appointment fee they fall under her. Once you receive your sdo number from the nvc you can go online and fill it out it is in English so I filled my fiances out for him and after that I paied the 265 threw a Dominican bank because those are in the instructions not the date of the interview. I actually went online and scheduled my interview and picked the date that was convenient for us. The medical was done Friday and exactly 1 week later they were rdy so if you schedule your own interview do it a week after your exam. We didn't even receive the so called packet he was suppose to get. Once you have you appointment date set up online you print it out go get your medical exam done with that letter that's all. Its not that difficult or a long process. Anyways wish you guys luck.

P.s. you CAN NOT PAY THE FEE ONLINE UNLESS YOU HAVE A BANCO POPULAR ACCOUNT.

And as soon as she has her appointment letter printed out she can go get her medical done the next day she has to enter the USA before the date of expiration on the letter.

Go to Google and put Nvc steps you will see it says begin national visa center (Nvc) processing. Follow the steps you can fill out the ds260 you can fill it out for her the questions are in english anyways that's all you need to have for her to do her medical after you print that out you can log into ceac.state.gov and check your status p.s its under immigrant visa not non immigrat visa don't know why anyways after you complete that you can make a profile on cgifederal.secure.force.com which is the website ustravel redirects you to to make your profile once you have your profile you can make your visa appointment it will give you detail instructuins on what to do.and you print that out with that and the ds260 she can go do her medical and then the interview and that's it oh and she has to do her finger prints as well. By the way we got our k1 approved today and my fiance still has not received his packet. As long as she has everything she needs for the interview she can schedule it for a week after she gets her medical done. Medical takes 5 business days and you can do biometrics 3 days before interview I strongly encourage you to be there. And even if the embassy does not have your file you can fill out ds260 help the process move along faster. Good luck.

Ok update, my fiancé filled out her ds-260, but not for the kids yet. I can log into pay fees Sunday and it see her and the kids names but no fees as of yet. When I logged in today to see if the fee for the AOS was there so I could pay a red box came up and sea is the case was sent to the embassy and all payments would be made thru there. So now what? I am trying to follow the steps and I am getting lost. So now what do I do?

Your not going to pay your fee threw them you have to go threw us travel they will redirect you to cgifederal.secure.force.com

You will make. A profile with them you will have to have the ds260 confirmation number to fill it out after you are done it will give instructions on how to pay for your interview then it will let you choose the most convenient day for you guys one you pay for the interview and schedule it you print out that letter and with that and the ds260 she can do her medical and biometrics as well make sure you guys have everything you need before the scheduled interview date this can go as fast as you want it to go as long as you guys have all the documents you guys can finish everything within a week and a half good luck

Oh by the way biometrics is free and you schedule that in that website first then the interview the same place she gets her bio done she will pick her passport up at as well.

OK UPDATE, the embassy has all ready received my paper work from the NVC so now i cant pay for the AOS at the NVC. so now who do i pay for that? this is moving way fast and i not following any of the steps i keep reading about. its crazy but also makes me worry. i tried to fill out the ds-260 for them and it kicked me out because it took to long to fill out sections because i am getting info on a slow internet connection with my fiance. anyways so now we are going to have a lawyer there help her on her side and i still have no clue who or when i can start paying for things. and i have tons of paperwork and cant send it in and don't know whom i am to send it too now? excited, confused, worried and just mentally exhausted at times. why does it seem so hard but easy once you get past a certain step. and the instructions are as clear as mud, and no two embassy are the same . its crazy.

Ok i no its alot at once but it honestly its not that hard. You would be waisting money if you get a lawyer now because wverything is pretty much done. If it keeps kicking you out just log back in make sure you save your work before going to the next page that way you can log into your ds-160 where you left off at. Once you complete that everything else is a piece of cake i promise but you can not takw the next step without it. After you are done with it you will be able to pay for it but the dominican republic has a specific website you have to go on to do so. Calm the ita almost done lol i no how exciting and stressful it is just webt threw it. Once your finished let me know and i will help with the rest.
