Return to embassy to "close deportation case"

My wife was told that she needs to return to the us embassy in tegucigalpa to close her immigration case. We submitted our

I-212 and I-601 following her first interview and they have been accepted and received by the embassy. They told her she would need to go to one of the windows to "close her immigration case."

I don't understand the purpose of this visit since her I-212 and I-601 had already been accepted.

Any idea what the purpose is of this visit and what to expect?
