So I keep an alert going for travel deals to the Philippines. These two just hit my inbox and for the price, they can't be beat. Not sure if they work with Manila as the origin. No idea how long the price will be this low. It is their ECOWOW fare, so no miles, but at this price, who cares.

EVA Airways - Flights starting in September from JFK, up to 3 months stay - $469 round trip, taxes included

EVA Airways - Flights starting in November from Chicago, up to 3 months stay - $469 round trip, taxes included

Use their website - https://www.evaair.com/en-us/index.html

I have no affiliation to EVA and yes I bought myself a round trip, we are hoping to have Annalyn's interview scheduled during that time, and for even a $50 each direction change fee, it is still a great deal.

Good Luck,

Looks like, from my limited searching, that travel dates for the 468 fares are extremely limited and you have 15/21 hour layovers in Taipei.

Having done trans-pac 4 times recently its a ball-buster with only 2hr layovers in China or Japan. Guess it all depends on if time or cost is more valuable.

I can't believe that $468 would be a loss leader for them (make up the profit on volume?) so why are current prices in excess of $1500. I certainly don't understand the business model.

BTW, what service did you use to get this alert?

So my Taipei layover each way is 4.5 hours, JFK to Manila. They had enough options that I was able to find that. I almost chose the 12 hour layover on the way back, but I just looked through all their options for that day of travel. 4.5 hours gives me plenty of time to head over to the in airport hotel and take a nice shower to freshen up before heading to Manila.

Airfarewatchdog.com is the site.

I have no idea how they are making money, but I have never seen it that low round trip so I had to post. The luggage limits are the same as regular economy, 2 bags@ 50lbs each, as well as any change or cancellation fees, so unless you are addicted to the miles.....

Good Luck

This is a great deal! Thanks for posting.

To Brassballs question: I think the Chicago service is new. I did not find any flights when I checked for September. If they are just starting service, they need to fill the planes to minimize losses. Once the service is well established, I certainly expect fares to rise substantially.

Fares are low until about Dec. 8 departure, then rise rapidly for the Christmas rush. Book early!
