AOS REF- REQ MORE INFO, CAN IT BE BY FAX INSTEAD OF MAIL?

Hello,

We received a RFE respond back that my husband AOS is on hold and they are requesting from us 2 things.

1- the signature for the co-sponsor and the 12 month bank statement

2- Foreign Birth Certificate

About the 1st one- we decided to get a different sponsor because his income and tax return meets the requirements with no problem

About Birth Cert. We submitted original Birth Cert in English but they thought it is a translation of the foreign one and not original.

Our lawyer called them and explained so the officer told him to submit all the required documents by the fax and provided a fax number.

I am wondering if that will work, i still have all original documents with me. Have anyone submitted their documents to USCIS by fax instead of mail?

If a tier 2 actual immigration officer said to fax it then I suppose it would be ok but I would not go by a service representative

who knows very little.
If it was me I would prefer to send it to the address indicated on the RFE letter.

If you fax it make sure you include a copy of the RFE letter and put name, DOB and A number on all pieces of paper and then follow up
on receive date.

Yes, it was a tier 2 officer, our lawyer faxed the papers with the RFE letter, Do you think i should also mail it although it was faxed or should we call USCIS and follow up on the Fax

Follow up on the fax and watch for your notifications for RFE received.

We called USCIS to follow up on the Fax, Tier 2 told us they do not take faxes , they said follow the instruction given or visit your local office. We went ahead and mail the package in the mail . I do not know how long it will take until we get a response back from them . My husband can not work or get a drivers license or do anything, this is really upsetting.

Give it a week to see notification that the RFE has been received, we have the holiday weekend so there may be a

day or two of delay.
