Wrong Name on 2 Yr Green Card

Ok, hoping someone can help me.

My green card arrived today with my name the wrong way around. Surname as first name, first name as surname. When filling in the forms I made this error and only noticed it after my bio-metrics where done. I rang USCIS right away and a couple of weeks later I got a letter to say they could fix it at Bio-metrics, which had already passed!

Anyway, I made an info pass appt and brought my Birth Cert and passport and they said it would be done. Just a few days before the info pass my AOS was approved so IO put a i551 stamp in my passport while I waited on GC and took my EAD card off me as that to had a error, different one but not important.

Now my question, can i travel on the stamp in passport even though GC is issued? Do i need to file an i90 to try get a replacement at no cost to me, it was my error first but USCIS had 3 opportunities to fix it after I informed them. Could I just wait it out and get new GC when removing conditions with my name corrected or will they just take the information from the AOS Green card?

Any ideas? Dont mind filing i90 but paying for a new card will hurt. i551 stamp in passport is good for 1 year.

Thanks

Yes, you can travel on the I-551 stamp until it expires.

Since you corrected it with USCIS but they continued to use the old incorrect name, you should file an I-90 on the basis of a USCIS error, for which there is no filing fee.
