After finger print how long is too long

I did my finger print on may 2 2016....i havent heard anything.How long is too long ?and how should i request for check up.I dont know how to put this i just know you can request for something..what can I request if I don't hear from them lets sat 2months?not trying to be negative...am still hoping they will contact me this month...my case is at NBC...MSC I THINK IS ONE PLACE.Didnt know where to post this.

Timeline

It depends on where you live, usually it takes around 4-5 months. You can always call them, but the customer service officer does not know anything about your case and they will for sure ask you to continue waiting.

You can take a look at the similar cases on Visajourney to see how long it usually takes in your area, but I think it takes around 4-5 months in the south..lol
