Hi,

My wife's conditional green card expires 9/12/16. We'll be filing for ROC next week. We would like to go to Europe in September and since my wife is Chinese, she will need a Schengen visa.

My question is this; Will the fact her GC expires during the trip impact her ability to get a Schengen visa? We plan to do an infopass for to get an I-551 stamp in her passport. And I understand we'll get an extension letter but I'm curious if that causes any problems getting a visa in Europe.

Thanks!

Be sure to bring the letter with you as well. She should be able to travel to Europe and back with no problems. Enjoy your trip

You can NOT get stamp into her passport because you will get extension letter. No two extensions together. When will get extension letter apply for Schengen visa. there will be no problems as far as she has valid China passport. Flight out of USA and flight into USA back will depend on how well air company's workers know this extension letter. Just be ready to put much more time to get to airport before flight, Better at least 4 hours.
