Hi,

My case number got assigned this morning and was given to me over the phone by the NVC.

I went on the CEAC and filed out the DS261.

I called NVC again to have it reviewed over the phone.

Agent asked how I filled ds261 since I haven't received welcome email yet. Told him I had link for CEAC already.

He said I jumped the gun and he isn't able to review the DS261 until the welcome email is sent to me, which can take up to 4 weeks.

Anyone had this happen before? Should I just to try and get another agent?

Should I wait until I receive the welcome email? How long does it usually take?

I had this happen. When we received the welcome letter to the petitioner, we tried having the DS-261 reviewed again - same story there. Only when we received the welcome letter to the beneficiary were they able to review the DS-261. Did you leave both your e-mail addresses with NVC when you received the case number? If so, wait until you received the welcome letters to both petitioner and beneficiary and call again then. You can leave the form as is, don't worry about that.

For us, the welcome letter too about a day to arrive via e-mail, but it was laaate in the day for both to be there.
