Hi, I'm new here and I had a question about the expiration date of the noa2. My fiancée is having trouble finishing package 3 because she is bed bound for the time being. She will be able to collect the info for the packet before the expiration. But I don't believe there will be enough time to do the interviews before that date. Will this date be extended as long as she does packet 3? Do we need to do anything? If she is unable to collect the information for packet 3 in time can I do something to extend the expiration if necessary? She will be going to the Vancouver embassy and the expiration is July 9, 2016. Thank you for your time.

~Inquiry is consulate-specific~

(mod hat off)

Suggest that you contact the consulate with your inquiry. Here is some general info from the DOS K1 Nonimmigrant Visa FAQs:

My Petition Expired – Can It Be Extended?

The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A consular officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Are you sure shes at the Vancouver consulate? She has a VAC number?

Packet 3 isnt that hard up here, she need to send back the checklist signed and the DS-160 confirmation. You take all documents to interview so they dont need to be collected or sent anywhere before that.

When you get packet 4 she books an interview date then a medical date. In general both consulates automatically extend the NOA2 date when there is an interview booked.
