Hello!

My Fiance and I just received our NOA2 from USCIS. I am aware based off the wonderful help from this communities knowledge base that the next steps come from the NVC. However I'm a little confused, do I fill out a document now prior to receiving the letter from NVC or will the form come from them?

Also i'm seeing items for an I-134 but also a form I - 864 (which i may be misunderstanding)

Any help will be much appreciated!

I think what you are seeing are it is recommended that you follow the I-864 guidelines to fill out the I-134. They are 2 different forms and you will send in the I-134 but it is the same concept when filling it out. Many times some embassies use the I-134 and some do not. Some use 125% (which is for the I-864) above the poverty guidelines and some use 100% (which is for the I-134).

As the others say, you fill out the form I134. You must obtain it online (USCIS webpage), and your fiancé will bring to his/her interview. Remember to obtain supporting documents (tax returns, employment letter etc). The embassy will inform you exactly what they require/prefer.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.
