I'm a Student at one of the Universities in Jamaica and I've applied for a J-1 visa to go on a Student's Work and Travel Cultural Exchange program. This is my third year going on the program and the VISA interview process went well on the 15th of April and my visa was approved. The Status on the CEAC said "Issued" after 6 days of Administrative Processing. Its now April 30 and I still have not received my Passport or tracking information. All my friends who had the interview the same day got their books back in 3 days, now I'm getting worried.

The notes on the CEAC website stated that I should contact the consular after 10 business days and I have emailed them with no reply, is there a foreign number I should call for the Jamaican embassy?

Email the U.S. Embassy in Kingston , look at the embassy website you will see the email address. Did you register with dhl to collect your passport?

I emailed the embassy several times already and I haven't received a reply yet, hoping for one on monday. How do I register with DHL? I would usually just be given a tracking number and thats it.

Log back into the webSite where you did your application i think it should be https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-jm/niv you should be able to track your passport there and register for dhl . You need to log back in with the password you used when completing the application,

The only time you can track the passport is when there is a tracking number on the website you sent me. There is no tracking number there, it just keeps saying Check DS160 status and that has said "Issued" from the 21st but no tracking number yet.

UPDATE: I hope this helps someone else in the future.

I still didnt receive a courier number from DHL, I called twice and ask to check for my package and they said they cant without a tracking number but I was fed up and desperate and I went to the Head office on 19 Haining road in Kingston and demanded they check for my package with my name and my passport # and LOW AND BEHOLD they had the package sitting down there with no tracking number over a week and a half!!

If your status says ISSUED and you haven't heard from your courier, go SEE them.
