Hello All,

I have a question to ask. I know fiancee and daughter has to go to St. Luke's for medical. I just need to know at the embassy interview does the daugther has to go too or does just my fiancee. Does she bring all the information for the daughter to the interview as well as her own?

When they approve the visa do they send both my fiancee and her daughter visa to her? Any information on this would be greatly helpful. Thank you very much.

The daughter is 13 so in the PI she doesn't need to attend. Yes, your fiancé has to bring her documents to.

She also needs her own medical, DS-160 + visa fee.

Yes your fiancé also give them her passport so she can get the visa also.

Lokk at the PI forum there are many down there who brings K-2 also.

Child needs to attend the interview, after you make your appointment online it will ask if you want to make another appointment, this is when you schedule the K2 child. If you call in the process is the same after they schedule your appt then you can add your child.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for what is required.

You are completing TWO visas applications, everything is done twice.

There is not an age exemption for K-2 attending the visa interview that I am aware of, please provide a link to the U.S. EMBASSY (USEM) website that states this... as I have NEVER HEARD OF IT.

London:

Children under the age of 14 who are deriving status from a petition filed on behalf of a parent and are applying for visas at the same as the parent, are not required to attend the interview. You may bring their documents with you. They require a passport, if they are not included on your passport, two photographs and a birth certificate.

Children aged 14 and over, and children (regardless of their age) who are the beneficiary of their own petition, must attend the interview.

We can all be wrong on something ;)

Interesting. I see that it depends on the visa type, K-2 apparently not required for AU (only country I looked up), but for an immigrant visa, such as IR2, they are required.

"A child under 14 is not required to attend the interview unless he/she is the sole beneficiary of the petition (e.g., IR2 applicants)."

Yes, it also depends on the embassy what they want. Don't know why they don't have to come though.

I tired to look at the PI but it doesn't say anything and you know more about them then I do so if you say they should go the OP should take them with him/her.

I took my son with me to the embassy for our interview. They asked him some questions too, like name and age. He was then 12 years old.

My wife took our daughter to the interview. It was necessary, they checked the pics, etc to verify it was her. But, since she was only 5 at the time they didn't ask her any questions.
