A friend of mine sent her application for AOS to Service Center. I said to her she sould send to Chicago (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, P.O. Box 805887, Chicago, IL, 60680-4120). She lives in Massachissetts and sent to Vermont.

She also forgot to send her husband's pay stubs and she sent the old Employment Letter (from September, 2006).

She asked me about what to do but I have no idea if she should send a new packet or wait for a RFE.

Please may anyone help?

P.S. I am posting her question because her English is not good.

Thank you!

1. Vermont will more than likely forward the application to Chicago. If not, they will probably return it to your friend. At the very least send her a notice that they received it. So she should wait a few weeks to find out what is going on with her application.

2. I sent a letter from my husband's employer that was 8 months old. Someone in VJ had posted that it needed to be a more current letter (in a post not relating to me), but I still haven't received an RFE. If USCIS requires a more current letter and/or paystubs, they will request them from your friend.

Worse things could happen (than mailing it to the wrong place). Sorry to hear about the mistake, but mistakes happen. Good luck to your friend and to you! :)

Thank you noviademexicano for sharing your experience. I will tell my friend what happened to you. She didn't sent pay stubs and the employer letter is old. I hope her case doesn't delay so much.
