Except all the advice he gave is garbage. You're not going to get a RFE for something that absolutely is not required.

OK!

Went through K-1 (I-129F) AOS (I-485) EAD (I-765) AP (I-131) processes. Thanks to the Visa Journey community for their help and support!

I mailed my i129f on Monday of this week and just realized that I forgot my print out for an ongoing relationship. Is there any way to get this information to them? Everything else in the packet is there including pictures plane tickets and proof of seeing each other in the last two years. Please help David

Not required, nor needed with the I-129F petition. Only requirement s evidence of having met within the past two years.

Here is a recount to the information I got by using the ask-a-lawyer function of the site, what do you guys think?

Q: I mailed my i129f in on Monday of this week 4 / 4 and I forgot to put my proof of ongoing relationship into the package. Is there anything I can do?

08 April 2016 09:39

A: Immigration Lawyer

Hello! My name is Gu****** Sen****** and I am a licensed attorney with more than 13 years of experience. I am here to assist you with your questions. Please understand that if I ask you for additional information, you are NOT charged again and our communications are NOT timed. So please see this as a relaxed conversation between friends. I am here to help.

Have you gotten the receipt back?

Q: 08 April 2016 09:40 No I have not gotten anything back, I sent it certified and signature

A: Ok. You have two choices other than refiling, of course:

1) Wait for the receipt to come back and then put a package together with the supporting evidence and send a copy of the receipt with the package to the same address and ask that the supporting evidence be added to the I-129F.

2) Wait for USCIS to send a Request For Evidence (RFE) asking for evidence that supports that the relationship is real, etc.

Option #1 would probably be the better option to keep the case from being delayed for too long.

Q: 08 April 2016 09:49 How long does the receipt usually take to arrive? Do I need to send an entire copy of the original package or just the receipt a letter explaining and the proof of ongoing?

A: 2 to 6 weeks for the receipt and I would just send a copy of the receipt, the supporting evidence and a cover letter explaining what happened and asking to merge the I-129F and the supporting evidence.

Q: Thank you for all your help, one last question before I let you go. How long do I have once I get the receipt back to make sure that they can merge the two documents? I'm just trying to think of any faster way to do it. Should I wait till they cash the check and then send a copy of the check with it? I'm worried that they will send it off to a processing center before I get them the documents. I want to make sure that I don't have to wait for an RFE because I've been told that can delay things up to 2 months

A: Unfortunately, there is no way to know how long you have to send in the evidence before the RFE is issued. I would estimate 2 months or so, but there is no way to guarantee it. Just sent the evidence in as soon as you get the receipt from USCIS.

Q: Can I use the deposited check rather than wait for the receipt?

A: Use the receipt. Be patient.

There's a boat load of bad advice! Yikes!
