I heard this on NPR several times today including a group who had a 10 minute discussion on it.. It was also the only area of discussion of the 15 minutes of Rush Limbaugh I listened to today.

So it is in the news!

I actually did not find his answers all that terrible (I only listed to the highlights on NPR/Rush), there are some threads of his ideas where he had not thought them through all the way or how he would achieve them (and like Trump, he tends to think its OK to make up new powers to achieve his aims) but the core is there: If its to big to fail then its to big to exist and should be broken up and financial institutions in and of themselves should not be huge money engines, they should the be the lubrication for other engines that actually drive the economy.

I think if I was him I would look back on other large companies that were forcibly broken up and use them as examples - a perfect one being AT&T: In the 80's we couldn't even plug in other companies phones into jacks without this monopolies permission and long distance rates were in the dollars per minute. We were much better off when they were broken up.

Also his foreign policy comments were very irresponsible.

What I would have liked to see him say, is not that the FED may or may not have the authority to break up the banks; but that before you even do that, you need to end the fed.

But that is why you get advisors to work out the details. At least he doesn't have a god complex like Trump.

He wasn't even responsible enough to not open his big mouth without getting the numbers right. Even the most bloated Hamas numbers or UN numbers show 2,500. He's talking about over 10,000.

Nope, sorry, it has nothing to do with answering on the spot. He repeated some things he's said in the past as well so it is his opinion, before it was asked this time around. And he is wrong about it. Plain and simple.
