Oh my we have VJ word police.... :pop: I wonder what other words are on the no no list... I have been transported back into a politically correct kindergarten . I guess it is ok to for people to defend their terrible advise because they aren't the ones that deal with the outcome.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

It looks like based on your profile that you would be moving to St. Louis? If so I wouldn't worry too much about looking lazy, because there is a high enough demand for software developers that as long as you don't completely suck it won't be a problem. I recommend finding a personal coding project to work on to pass the time if money isn't an issue because from what I have see employers often ask about personal work just as much as professional work. (I am a software developer in St. Louis which is how I know this btw)

I agree with everyone else that it isn't worth the risk to try and do any kind of work.

So basically you don't really know your spouse and just wanted to come to the US ASAP.

File for AOS and ge your EAD in 3 months.

IRS doesn't care about your bank account in Belgium.

Actually we looked at getting a H1B first before getting the K1 after we met. Thought it may be better.

Also, I have nothing to win by marrying her just to move to the U.S.. Since she is still studying, when we are married I will be responsible for her. So if we end up filing for a divorce, I will have to keep paying for her until she has graduated in 5 years. So I don't even get where you are going with this insult. Her brother introduced her to me, why would I abuse his trust...

Yes okay! I think that might be a smarter move. I have set up a personal website to blog about things I develop, I had to create one to keep my Microsoft MVP award.

I usually keep some samples of my work also on Github to get jobs easier. But the reason I was looking to work while waiting was that I mostly didn't want to get lazy.

What is your field of expertise in software development?
