Fiance's current address is China- native alphabet

Hey!

My fiance is Italian, but he is currently living in China. So on I-129F where it says his address abroad, should I attempt to write that in Chinese characters? It looks impossible... I have sent him mail with the address in English. Is that sufficient since China accepts mail written in English?

You don't have to do it in the native alphabet. The address written in English will still reach him.

The instructions are not very clear, but it means to write the name in the name's native alphabet, and write the address in the address's native alphabet. Obviously a Chinese person whose address is in an English-speaking country won't transliterate the English address into Chinese characters and write that. Conversely a non-Chinese person whose address is in China should write the address in Chinese, if possible.

The address in China can be translated, I did that with my dad's residence address in Taiwan..

Very true, actually on most of the forms where such information is required, it is possible. I recall that we successfully furnished Chinese characters on the Forms G325A, I-129F, DS156, DS157, and DS 230 (some may now be obsolete or superseded).

Thanks everyone! I'll look for how to type his address in Chinese characters. My only concern is if it will fit since the address is long. But I'd rather be safe than sorry!
