Can I use the Nexus lane at POE?

Going to secondary from NEXUS is not that unusual (it's happened to me more than once because of someone nefarious who has the same name as I do)...I don't recall the YYZ setup but at YVR if you go NEXUS at least you get to skip some of the lineup.

The point of Nexus is a pre-clearance for frequent travelers to the US. Read the literature given to you when you got your card. Since you're activating your K-1 visa this time I'd think you'll need to use a regular booth. I also have a Nexus and when I went through my POE I went through a regular booth and the officer had to prepare a bit of paperwork for me before I went through to secondary. Nexus is for a quicker process... you don't want to hold that line up for your fellow card holders now do you? ;)

I would have never given this a second thought before I read this. Never thought about using a regular booth for it. I just assumed they'd punt me to secondary regardless of what booth I used.

Ok - in Pearson we go through immigration first, and then security, so I'll take the regular line for immigration, and the nexus line for security!

Oh right! I was thinking of the Global Entry line at YVR. Thanks for the clarification!

I took my cat through NEXUS at YVR for my POE and met all kinds of nice officers when she escaped as they helped catch her.

That isn't the recommended procedure though.

I strongly recommend a secure harness, or else bite the bullet and go into the room for screening. I very nearly missed my flight after Hayley Wickenheiser slipped her harness.
