CR1/CR2 - Retrieve Passport at US Embassy while case is on AP/221g

Hi VJers,

Anyone who tried to retrieve their passport at US Embassy while case is under AP? I have to get back to SIngapore to work. From what I have read on several forums, AP (request for additional documents) can take a few weeks to a few months. I have not resigned from my work in Singapore yet and I cant stay here for that long.

You can get your passport back, but when it is needed to complete the visa process the embassy needs to have it back or everything is delayed.

Called the numbers you posted and the CS officer told me that I can do a walk-in at the embassy 10am-12pm mon-thurs at window 38.

Hi Everyone,

our CEAC status changed from AP to ready today, Is this a good sign that our visa is approved and will be issued soon?

Im now on unpaid leave and decided to just wait for my passport.
