Need Qatar Police Certificate if only 10 Months There? [split topic]

Hi,

I have lived in Qatar for exactly 10 months (May 2008-Mar 2009). Do I still need to secure a police certificate from that country? My interview is in 2 weeks and I know I've read everywhere that IF it's only 12 months or more. Can someone please verify this info? Thanks!

It's 6 months . You need to provide a police record from every country you lived for over 6 months

I need to get 3 police reports from 3 different countries and it's extremely hard to get the police station for example in Ireland to co-operate

I forgot to mention that I'm on an IR-1 category (Spouse of a US citizen) and from what I've read on the US embassy website (Philippines) and the NVC website, it has to be 12 months or more, not 6 months and that is why I never requested for one from Qatar since I've only stayed there for 10 months.

An applicant must obtain a police certificate from the local police authority:

IF you…

AND…

have been living in your country of nationality at their current residence for more than 6 months

you are 16 years old or older

lived in a different part of your country of nationality for more than 6 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

lived in a different country for more than 12 months

you were 16 years or older at that time

were arrested for any reason

you were any age at the time of the arrest

POLICE CERTIFICATES: A police certificate is required from a country in which the applicant lived for more than one year (six months if you are applying for a K visa) after turning 16 years of age. As with NBI clearances, foreign police certificates should be obtained in any maiden names, married names, aliases or nicknames ever used while in the country in question, including different spellings of all names ever used. Information on how to secure police certificates from countries where these are available may be obtained by contacting U.S. Embassy Manila’s Immigrant Visa Branch or an Embassy of the country from which the police certificate is required.
