Hi all,

I just had my medical on Friday 19th February and wondering how long others had to wait until they received their packet 4 and got their interview. Also, on the USA website it says you get an appointment date given, however I have read in other various places that you book and chose your appointment date. Can anyone already been through the process for UK to USA clear this up for me?

Thanks in advance!

Each consulate has a different process. London explains theirs on the embassy website. I think if you read this page, you will understand they pick the interview date/time https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

Here's how long it has taken other people to interview. It could be a couple of weeks before you get the letter. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/549078-medical-to-interview-date-how-long-2015-data/page-3?hl=%26quot%3Bmedical+to+interview%26quot%3B#entry7883281

I had my medical on Jan 21st and my interview is this wednesday Feb 24th

Had my medical on the 7/1 and interview was the 12/02 so just over 5 weeks between.

Out of curiosity, how long did you both have between receiving a letter and the interview? It looks like five weeks is the norm at the moment, but did you have a lot of time to prepare? I'll need to take annual leave and book a bus/flight down from Scotland so am getting a little antsy about this!

It was about 3 weeks between the medical and the letter. You've got a fair old journey there :o

Aye  I was able to do the medical using only one day of annual leave but I'd like to be less frazzled/sleep deprived for the interview!

Thanks! OK seems I will just have to wait for the letter then and book time off once I know :)

I'm in the same boat and planning to fly down the evening before and stay in a hotel near the embassy then get up early and get to embassy for 7am. Less stress for a situation already stressful!
