No NOA1 since I-129F arrived February 4

We mailed our I-129F at February 1, and it arrived at February 4 in the Dallas lockbox. It was signed for.

Now unfortunately we haven't heared anything at all. Now when I was reading these boards, I noticed that 90% of all cases had their checks cashed within 3 working days and received a receipt number. We have now waited 14 days and are getting desperate. We contacted the NCSC several times, and one immigration officer told us it is likely the file is still in the lockbox facility of Dallas.

I read that some people had to wait 4-5 months before they wanted to make an effort looking for it.

Can an attorney or lawyer make a difference for us? We don't have a receipt number and we want to push them to look for it. We are also looking at contacting the governor, because telling us to wait 6 months to file again is just plain ridiculous for us being 'customers' to them. And since they possibly made a mistake of losing our package, someone must be held responsible?

Can someone advice us what to do?

You may want to add that you have the form G-1145 in the package

Its too early to panic or anything. There were a few govt holidays in FEB too.

The road ahead is ...long. Chill out. Focus on the things you can do for the next steps until something truly happens.

Have you set-up an account at USCIS? https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

Can an attorney or lawyer make a difference for us? Deplete your bank account. We don't have a receipt number and we want to push them to look for it. You can try to push a huge federal bureaucracy, good luck with that. We are also looking at contacting the governor, because telling us to wait 6 months to file again is just plain ridiculous for us being 'customers' to them.It is a Federal matter, a state governor would have no jurisdiction. And since they possibly made a mistake of losing our package, someone must be held responsible? Do you know for a fact that your package has been lost? Hysteria will not help you. You really need to calm down, practice some patience..

As you will find out with your entire immigration journey, it is a protracted and continual exercise in patience. Hopefully you will hear some news soon.

Okay maybe you are right. But still, her brother also married a woman from the Philippines nearly 15 years ago. They were also applying for a K-1 visa, and they had been waiting for 6 months. Then her dad mailed the governor. And apparently the governor made them look for it that there would be consequences if they didn't. And suddenly they found it after three days under a pile on someone's desk. At that time it was the governor of Missouri. I think in 2000 or 2001. Not sure if that is still the case. They might have been lucky.

We also submitted the G-1145 package! Correct.

Believe me, this entire immigration process is a matter of learning patience, and dealing with "hurry-up and wait." Take a look at our signature block. It took two years of your lives to get where we are in our immigration journey. It took almost nine (9) months to get my family's K1/K2 visas, so for us a couple of days or weeks here and there pale by comparison.

You are at the front end of a long journey. It is a marathon, not a sprint. Learn how to pace yourself.
