Hello everyone! Hope you all are doing well. Can anyone please tell me how this CEAC status updated date works? My interview was on 9Feb, everything went well Alhamdulillah, the CO did not even see the pictures and just asked three questions and said that I will get my passport in 3 weeks. My wife asked him is it approved he said YES. I dont know why he said 3 weeks but, however, my Status updated date on CEAC changed on the interview day, on 10 Feb and on 11 Feb. Today is 12 Feb and today its did not change. Is the commitment CO gives for the timeframe true? I am more worried about it. Can anyone please tell me how it works? I am really confused

Thanks in advance

They tell the maximum time, he told my cousin 3 weeks but he got his passport back after 4 days. but his status changed to Issued few hours after interview. But don't worry you'll receive your passport by next week. Normal it takes 3,4 days to change to issued I think.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My fiancé was also approved during his interview and was told that he would have his passport in 10 days. That was 8 weeks ago and he's currently also in AP. Be patient, it may not be 3 weeks, but it will come. Congratulations!

Here is how it will go if your case is not complicated:

First it stays Ready, then goes to AP, when it comes back to Ready from AP it goes to Issued. All this could take any time between 10 days to 60 days. The CO tells the average time based on your case, It could take more or less time than that, all depends on how good your case is. I was told 4 weeks, and now after 7 weeks it finally says "Issued" and tells me I will get my visa soon. Waiting to see my love in US and finally get married. Get this thing written on your heart and mind: EVERY CASE IS DIFFERENT, that is, no two cases are the same. Hope for the best and if he CO said 3 weeks, then it means your visa is coming soon IF there is no complication they find after your interview. Hope you guys get married soon and live a happy life.

Thank you for your response really!!! I am already married, my case is CR-1 case. My wife the petitioner asked the CO is it approved he said yes and he also said we would get it within 3 weeks. I am confident about the case because the CO did not asked for any wedding pics or other documents. Our case is very simple and straight one.

Based on what you said, your visa will come soon. Just dont be too impatient. That will make you tired and angry and confused. Just wait. Use this time to plan your life in US. Look for jobs online, search for where you have to live, do the other paper work if you need. Dont panic if the status changes too much or does not change at all. Most cases should resolve in less tha 60 days.
