Hi, I have been in a dilemma this past year. In January 2015, I got engaged to my fiancé through arranged marriage and the plan was to fly to Yemen to get married, however due to the war happening currently in Yemen beginning March 2015 to current, there's no way I can go there and live there. I talk with my fiancé every single day, and with our luck we haven't found a solution. We want to get married, but we have not met to fulfil the meeting requirement for the fiance visa.

I know some people will say to meet in another country and take pictures, but it is so difficult with financial problems.

Recently my fiancé told me about people in the same place as we are in, and they have been approving individuals from Yemen in the fiancé visa and waiving out the no meeting requirement through Saudi embassy, I believe. I was wondering if this was true? What can I do to bring my fiancé to Untied States, so we can get married and start our life together. I'm so stuck and frustrated and hope anyone can give me some advice.

I know you said it would be financially hard to meet somewhere else but UAE isn't that far from Yemen and if you were prepared to go there hadn't the situation been what it is a trip to UAE shouldn't cost much more

Hi Rain0105, have you considered going to Jordan? I was previously engaged and had done the K-1 Fiance visa, but the war broke out right as my case arrived in Yemen for interview in Feb 2015. I was advised by the consulate to just get married in another country and apply as a spouse with I-130 as it would be easier and shorter wait in the long run. My husband and I met up in Jordan in Nov 2015 and got married there. We stayed for 3 months and I came back to the U.S to apply. Now our case is processing at NVC. I don't believe obtaining a 3 month visitor visa for Jordan is very hard, but I would look into it. If not, look into other countries in the region. Egypt maybe? I know the UAE is difficult for Yemeni citizens. best of luck!
