February 2016 AOS Filers

Thank you everyone! I loved the support of VJers and will continue to offer my support throughout our immigration journeys!

And MASH, when did it say your interview was scheduled for? I don't understand how they can be interviewing people from last year with that status yet still give you a date for your interview? That's so strange...

I never got an actual date for mine, all mine say is "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" but not did give me an actual date yet, people from Jan 2015 that filed just got actual interview dates last month, which I think it's crazy to the max especially when my medical expires on Oct 19th 2016 and I might not get in interview till April 2017

So in other words I most likely will have to spend more money cause I will have to do my medical again if my interview is after the expired date

The Dallas office is super packed apparently since 2013 , so whoever decides to move to Dallas and have there interview in Dallas I recommend doing the AOS ASAP

Do you think it would be ok if we just change our address online after the interview? I'm really scared that they may send the card to my old address--it's an apartment building, so I'm afraid the new tenant may just throw it out. I still get mail from the old tenant of my apartment, and it's been a year since they moved!

I say let them know during the interview you will be moving cause I hear people have the GC updated right after a approved interview and it might get to late to change address

Go to the post office an pay the money to get an address change. This way of the post office gets stuff with your old address they will look you up in their system and see you've moved and forward your mail there. I'm pretty sure it's called mail fowarding it can be a little pricey though but I think it's worth it if your getting such important things in the mail !

That's what I was thinking MASH--thanks. And Abby&Colin, that's a great idea! Do I do it through USPS--I think that's what USCIS uses, but I'm not sure.

Woke up to a text this morning that my green card interview is on May 18! I don't even care that we have an interview. I'm so excited we are basically done with this process and no RFE!

Our I-485 case hasn't been updated since 3/18. But we got a letter from the Senator's office with an update...They pushed the Travel and Employment through which I saw were both approved last week. The I-485 got an interview waiver and has been sent to Philly for further processing and completion.

That's what I was thinking MASH--thanks. And Abby&Colin, that's a great idea! Do I do it through USPS--I think that's what USCIS uses, but I'm not sure.

Mine says it's in the mail (received the notifications yesterday). I will update when it's in hand. I sent my package Feb 4.

Holdingon is in the same boat as me and I think one or two others are waiting or have already received theirs. There are also a couple posters in this forum who already have their green card on the way, or in hand (thus cancelling the EAD/AP).

I'm thinking that you should hear something by Monday cause that will be over 2 weeks since ur bio

from your mouth to USCIS' ears hahah hope that we hear something soon!
