hello! I just completed my DS-260 for my daughter last november 2015, and it took 2 months, because of some missing documents, and after submitting those, they send me a letter that my daughter's visa application is on queue for overseas interview, my question is, so would that mean that the case was close already? and my experience is different, i have a friend of mine who is petitioning her daughter too, but she didn't receive any letter that says "queue for interview" she immediately got a schedule for an interview, and how long will it take, it they say queue for interview? because March is upcoming, so I don't know if i will still enroll my child to school for the next school year, since i don't have any idea how long will it take before they will give a schedule?

can anyone give me some idea base on your own experience? I can't make any plans since I don't know how far I am for petitioning my daughter.

It depends when your priority date is. When your priority date becomes current, they will schedule the interview. And if they say that she is on queue for interview, this means the case is already close at NVC (that you satisfied the documentary requirement).

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the respond, her priority date according on my file is October 28 2013? So I have to wait till October then? I'm totally clueless, I didn't get any help from anyone when I filed her petition though, thanks!

Her Priority Date is current, so there is a visa available for her. However, the US Embassy has limited interview slots. Your daughter's interview will be scheduled when there is an available slot.

If you say October 28, 2013, then she should have been scheduled long time ago. What is being process/scheduled at this point is August 2014.

If your priority date is right, I would call NVC ASAP and know what happened.

Thanks!

My sister's priority date is August 2014 and a Visa is already available to her based on the current F2A Visa Bulleting for Feb, 2016. So you should have had this thing scheduled a Long time ago. You should call them RIGHT NOW and ask for their expedite email address. You should send them an email to that address for them to expedite the case based on a Visa Number already available to your daughter. If you wait 2 more months, that will make it 1 year of Visa becoming available and you not actively seeking for an interview. That could disqualify your daughter from getting a VISA.

Do not panic though, the Customer Service people at NVC are not mean as long as you are nice to them and talk to them softly and happily. They will help you out. I talked with them on Monday and what would have taken 2 weeks for me to get, took a couple of hours.
