Need Guidance and Help Filing i-130

Hello,

My name is jimit and i am currently on F-1 working on OPT Extension and my OPT expires in November but as per the feb 12th OPT is getting canceled and i will become illegal.

i am married to a US citizen and i wanted guidance on how to file i-130 and should i file all the papers together in one package or wait for I-130 to approve then file the remaining adjustment of status and all forms.

if my i-130 is approved before feb 12th will i remain in legal status or i will become illegal?

i would really appreciate your help and thank you in advance.

hi

you have to send the whole adjustment of status packet, the i130 isn't worth sending by itself, since it can take 5 or more months to be approved

read the guides to adjust status in the US

i havent applied yes is because i just got married 2 days back.

when you say entire package does that include the I-693 (Medical Form) and all?

i have read thru a lot of online forum and i am not able to exactly fine what all i need to file in that one package.

You have to file I-130, I-485,I-765 for employment authorization and I-693 for medical exam. I-864 for affidavit of support. You can file all at once since you are adjusting status and you are still present in the united states.

thank you, had one more question following this. so i have prepared all the forms and i was gathering the supporting documents and i see there are few which are repeating like birth certificate and photos 2X2. Do i need to provide this multiple times or just one birth certificate in the entire package is good enough?

Include it for EACH form as required. Keep in mind that you only need a photocopy of documents not originals.
