Document for NVC post NOA2 - original or copy?

I'm about to send my fiancee the supporting documents for her interview. We can't decide if the documents need to be original or if a scan>email copy will work. The USCIS accepted all documents that were copies as originals, but I'm not sure if they need an actual original for the I-134.

Do any of the documents (bank letter, 1040, etc) need to be notarized? I see some places that say notarize and other places that don't mention it.

Also, the I-864 is similar to the I-134 - will I need to submit an 864 eventually? What's the difference?

Thank you

wet signatures:

1. I-134

2. intent to marry letter

anything else from you can be copies. Remember - any divorce decrees on the usa citizen, must be presented on interview day - even if you submit before, as the Vice Consul must review , is looking for the seal or stamp from a certified copy of the decree, certified by the issuing authority - a email/scan/print not suffice.

Check out the DOC requirements on the DS-160, though - she will have to handle other original docs there (her docs, not your docs)

as to I-134 vs I-864 - the rules for adjudication on the I-864 are used for the I-134, so study stuff with the I-864 instructions. The I-134 is not legally enforceable and is only in affect for the duration of the I-94 issued at POE. The I-864 is legally enforceable. You will file the I-864 after marriage inside of the USA as part of the 'adjustment of status' casefile that the two of you will prepare.
