I know people probably ask this all the time but I see alot of people talking about their applications being "touched" what does this mean and how can I determin whether or not mine has been touched. I have created an account on the USCIS website with both my application numbers, is this where I can see if its been touched?

You wont get a notification in your email when its been "touched". When your last updated date changes, its been touched. But dont put too much meaning into it. All it means is that the file was scanned into the computer while it was moved from one place to another. Though generally, alot of last updated changes in a row, means that its being worked on.

I dissagree with the other post before this one. A touch is an awesome way to stay encouraged, assuming you are watching your petition on line.

Our petition was touched 3 days in a row just before it was approved, and that is often a good indication that there is alot of activity on your case.

So keep watching the web site at USCIS, everytime there is a change in the date, that is a touch, and it is all good!
