I had my first Medical exam Last Wednesday (dec 16, 2015) at St. Lukes Medical Center (Extension Clinic) in Ermita. My mom wants me to do my medical around 3 weeks before my interview so that ifever theres a problem with my results, we can reschedule my interview early. I was supposed to go with my twin sister but unfortunately she had her first day of menstruation last tuesday (awwww). I still decided to go even though there was a storm called Nona and even though my sister is not with me.

So here are the things you need to bring:

* my category is IR2 so i dont know to other categories if they need something more

1. passport

2. Photocopy of passport bio page (1copy only)

3. Online Registration form (if you registered online. 1 copy only)

4. Interview Letter (2 copies)

5. 4pcs. 2x2 picture (no earrings, ears must be visible and white background) write your full name at back of every picture.

6. ballpen

My first day (dec. 16 2015)

Step 1: since theres a storm, I decided to go not so early so i arrived at 6am. There is only a few people when I arrived, I guess because of the storm. So i showed the guard the requirements and then he gave me a number (mine is 12) and i proceeded inside.

Step 2: There were numbers for people who registered online and for people who didnt registered online. When I got in there is no line actually so I immediately went to a counter (counter J). I gave her my requirements and she asked me few questions like who is my petitioner, do i have other relative that will be petitioned with me (in my case, my twin sister), my Date of birth, and i forgot the others. After the questions, she asked my to scan my right pointing finger 4x. then she took a picture of me.

Step 3: The girl at counter J asked me to proceed at the cashier in 5th floor. I rode the elevator to 5th floor. The cashier is just beside the elevator. there is no line so I immediately paid 11, 300 pesos to the cashier. (remember that they accept credit cards and checks and dollars). remember to keep the receipts because you need to show that to every remaining steps.

Step 4: after paying they asked me to go to 4th floor for my blood test. I gave my receipt and passport to the counter in 4th floor then they gave me a barcode that i will give to the nurse. I waited to be called. they called my name around 30 mins and I proceeded inside the room and then they took a blood sample from me and then I gave the barcode to the nurse who took my blood sample.

Step 5: the nurse told me to proceed to 3rd floor my xray. I gave my receipt and passport again to the counter in 3rd floor then the receptionist gave me a paper to fill up. They will ask your first and last menstruation so remember the dates or make a lucky guess :)). after i submitting the form and old xray result the receptionist ask me to go inside the female xray room. There were a lot of xray gowns inside so i chose one then get inside the other room to remove my shirt and bra and to wear my xray gown. After that, i waited a bit then the girl called me and took my xray. She gave back my receipt and asked me to proceed to 2nd floor.

Step 6: I gave my receipt and passport to the counter in 2nd floor then he gave me form to fill up again then after i finished filling up the paper he asked me to sit and wait for my turn to be interviewed by the doctor ( by the way, this is Immunization interview already). then when its my turn already, the doctor asked me a lot of question like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, etc., then I am done.

Step 7: the doctor asked me to proceed now to 5th floor for my physical test. I went to 5th floor, dropped my receipt at the box in vital counter and waited for my turn. The nurse in vital area called my name after 40 mins and took my blood pressure and weight. then I took a sit again and waited for my name to be called again. after 15 mins, i was called and asked to go inside a room for my height a eye test then after that i waited to be called again for my interview with a doctor again. i was called a the guard gave me a number and i went outside room 5 and waited for my turn. So when it already my turn, i went inside room 5 then the doctor asked me questions again like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, If I traveled abroad for the past 6mos., etc. . then the doctor askede to go to the US counter and give my receipt.

Step 8: the receptionist in US counter asked me to proceed to 3rd floor for Check out so I proceeded and then I gave my receipt at the check out counter and I waited to be called again. The guy from the checkout counter called me and gave back my receipt. He told me to come back on dec. 17, 7:15am for results. So after that I went home.

My Second Day ( Dec 17 2015)

Step 1: I arrived at St. lukes at around 7am. I'm so nervous to show my receipt to the guard (hehehe). I showed my receipt to the guard and I was praying not to get a "sputum" stamp. The guard checked my status then he stamped "Counter A Medical on process". I dont know what that stamp meant and i got so nervous because of that stamp. I just made myself think positive that atleast I didnt get a "sputum" stamp. So the guard told me to proceed to counter A and drop my receipt. So i waited to be called. I was nervous because some people that are being called were advised to have fasting (idk why). But there were other people that was asked to proceed in 2nd floor and have there vaccines and I was one of them!! YAY! the girl told me to wait for my name to be called at 2nd floor and they will be the one to give my documents to the nurse at the immunization.

step 2: I immediately went to 2nd floor and I waited for my name to be called. i waited for 2hrs I guess? when i was called, the nurse asked me questions again like when was the first and last day of my menstruation, sexual contact, past disease, etc. (same old same old). But unfortunately, they need my sister's meical results before they can give me vaccines. so the nurse asked me to tell my sister to take her medical exam asap even though she has menstruation so that I can have my vaccines. he told me that if my sister finished her medical early on the next day, i can have my vaccines at around 4:30 pm

My third Day (dec 18 2015)

So my sister did her medical exam earlier this day and finished early so that is my cue that i will go and have my vaccines in the afternoon.

I arrived 4:15pm at St. Lukes, i showed my receipt to the guard and he stamped "immunization" to my receipt (YEHEY!) and i went straight to the immunization room to give my receipt to the nurse who advised me to go today. After 10mins, the nurse called my name and he checked my sister's result and when he saw that my sister's result is okay and ready for immunization, he gave me 2 shots of vaccines. 1 on the left and 1 on the right. it's pretty ouchy though.

I waited for the result at the ground floor. i was called after 1 hour. The guy asked me to check if my name and DOB is correct and asked me few questions about who my petitioner is, if my address in the US is right and etc., then the guy gave me the xray result in cd, immunization record that I will bring in the US and the envelope that I will bring in US embassy on my interview. and he told me GOODLUCK to my interview. :)

that was it! I passed my medical and i'm glad that my sister passed too :)) sorry if theres a lot of grammatical errors. :((

GOODLUCK on your upcoming medical examination!
