My Husband and I may be going to Guam for 4 - 6 months. He is doing a software activation for the company he works for. I just filed for my AOS on Monday. What would happen is I'm in Guam when they set my interview date? Would I be able to have my interview in Honolulu?

Just trying to anticipate what to expect. we'll probably be heading for Guam the beginning of May. :help:

Thanks for your input in advance!

Jimmy the American,

Have whoever is checking your mail let you know if you recieve an interview date so that you can come back to attend.

But first you'll have a biometrics appointment to attend.

The interview may be dispensed with by the USCIS, but the biometrics is a certainty.

Notify the Homeland Security about your change of address and how long you'll gonna stay there. Maybe you can ask them also where is the nearest place you can have your biometrics and AOS interview there. I, myself notify the Homeland Security about my change of address and requested to have my biometrics and AOS interview here in California instead of Alabama. Although, my step-son recieved and forwarded earlier the notice to me from Homeland for my biometrics appointment in Alabama and AOS interview appointment in Atlanta, so I requested for another appointment that was taken here in California.

Umm, Because you came on a K1 visa and just applied for only the AOS (from what I can see) then it would be VERY wise to apply for your AP right once you get your NOA1 from your AOS. You are not allowed to leave the country without it and it takes up to 90 days to receive the AP, so if you are planning on leaving in May you are cutting it pretty close.

K1 Journey:

April 13/06 NOA1 from NSC

June 1/06 - Moved to CSC

August 12/06 APPROVED - NOA2!!

August 28/06 Left NVC. . . Vancouver Bound!

September 27/06 Interview APPROVED, with visa in hand

October 29/06 Moving Date

December 30/06 Married!!

AOS Journey:

January 16/07 Sent out AOS, EAD, and AP docs

January 23/07 NOA1's for AOS, EAD and AP

February 13/07 Biometrics in Portland, OR

April 7/07 EAD and AP Received

April 24/07 Interview Scheduled . . . and APPROVED, stamp and all!

May 7/07 Greencard is in my hands!

ROC Journey:

February 17/09 Sent I-751 to CSC

February 18/09 NOA1

March 14/09 Biometrics appt.

April 22/09 Date of Approval!!

June 25/09 Greencard arrives in the mail!

Sorry, just thought that this needed clarification. Jimmy the American, are you intending to go with your husband? If so, you will need the AP that together2love mentioned.

I always thought that Guam was part of America...not a state, but still a part of it.

Last time i checked, Guam was a U.S. territory. ;)

and if i'm not mistaken, there is a USCIS office there, too.

Well, then I guess I can assume that they are taking a direct flight there so as to not need an AP at all.

Good point however.... not to assume they are taking a direct flight but that they MUST take a direct flight...

YMMV

No worries, i wouldn't plan to travel outside the US, the flight does to Honolulu than straight to Guam. :) Don't worry I wouldn't make that mistake...

It IS a US territory and i can legally go there without an AP

Thanks for your help!
