Hello Everyone,

Hope all of you are doing well with you today.

So I did my K-1 Visa interview on Tuesday 24th of November. It all went well except that the personel that I did the interview with me had an issue with my fiancee's finances.

My fiancee moved back to the US about 4 and a half months ago, and she recently started working again (She was living in Lebanon and we met here and spent almost 5 months together before she moved back to the US). The problem was that her job didn't meet the minimum poverety guideline standards, so they asked me for a joint-Sponsor in

order for me to be eligibale for the visa. So her brother filled out an I-864 form for me and sent it with supporting evidence of his work and his tax papers for 2014. I submitted everything on Wednesday 2nd of December and they told me that they will call me once they review the file.

I checked my Status on the CEAC website and it has been put under "admnistrative Processing" so I researched about it and this got me scared, some people waited a long time before getting a reply from their respective embassies.

My question is has anyone been put in this situation before, and if so how long did it take for the embassy to contact you after you submitted your joint-sponsorship papaer? How can I proceed with this?

All the papers that i have sent meet the minimum proverty guidelines and exceed them by quite a bit. along with everything they asked me to provide. Should I be worried? I am kinda a freaking out, because i don't know what to do.

Any advice/feedback/help would be really really appreciated.

Thank you for your constant support guys.

Mohamad.

I was put on AP after interview on 11/19 for a minor issue (paperwork, ect...) it took until today for it to switch to READY. so about two weeks including the Thanksgiving break and weekends. Just wait, nothing you can do to speed it up. They are pretty fast.

Ah great, Conratulations!

But what does READY mean? Will they call you soon for you to pass your passport by to the embassy for them to put the visa on it?

Hope it doesn't take longer than two weeks. The wait is so frustrating...But I am real happy for you :)

The actually called her to drop off the passport Friday. it took 2 business days to get to READY

It goes like this: "immigrant AP"--> "non-immigrant READY" this means you are officially approved (estimate 2-3 weeks)

Then to "non-immigrant AP" this is usually brief for most people, some people will get extra background checks here (2 days or forever)

Then to "non-immigrant ISSUED" means the visa is ready to be picked up

Oh okey,

So when you checked the Status of the case on the CEAC website, did you put your case number in the Non Immigrant section instead of the Immigrant one?

Thank you so much for your input.

doesn't matter, they will merge into one

My fiancé and I were put into AP today. He's taking the papers tomorrow. So my question is should he take his passport tomorrow? And if not when he takes it after its ready will he get the visa the same day. I mean if they make him wait to give his passport when it's ready does that mean they've printed the visa already?

Hello Jess, Hope you're doing well. I think he should take his passport with him tomorrow just in case they as him for it. But it's highly unlikely that they will take it from him on the same day. I submitted the additional papers that they required on the 2nd of December and I was put on AP on the 4th and I am still waiting until now (no updates yet).

They will call him once all the processing is completed and they will ask him to bring the passport to the embassy. It should be given back to him after roughly a week. That's usually how it goes. Hope this helps.

Would really appreciate if you could update us on your progress. Good luck!

He took the papers today and they want my mom's tax papers. She's our co-sponsor. We sent in her W2s, and they told him that, that wasn't the paper they needed. What paper are they talking about? I emailed them to clarify and got the generic email back of, check our FAQs. HELP PLEASE!

Hello guys,

Hope all of you are doing well.

So it's been a little over two weeks since I have submitted the additional required documents to the embassy and still no news from them. My CEAC status has been updated last friday, but it's still under administrative processing. I read on the embassy's website that it may take up to 30 days for a consular officer to reassess a case after the additional

receiving the additional documents. My question here is, do you think it would be a good idea to contact them after new years, in case nothing happens between now and then (which is highly likely because its a holiday season now, and I feel everything gets put on hold up until after the new year starts).

Hope someone can help with this.

Cheers.
