Hello All,

Please I need help on something very basic but very confusing to me right now. To all or anyone that has already applied. Am filling out my 1-130 application right now but am confuse of what name to right for my wife as her last name here. We got married few days ago in the Philippines and on our marriage license it still reads her maiden last name. So what name do I write as her last name on this I-130 petition and on her G-325a, my last name or her maiden name? Please if anyone can help me with this small issue I would really appreciate it.

For the I-130 I wrote her married last name rather than her maiden name. In the section about any other names used, I wrote her maiden name. It's worked out fine.

Use the last name she'll be using on her passport,

does she have a passport already w/ her maiden name? if so, she have to go to DFA to change her last name...

the requirements are... marriage certificate, birth certificate, id, maybe asked for baptismal and school record...

for spouse of foreign national it requires to get a CFO certificate

we got married last year and I'm using my husband's last name ...

my maiden name as Middle name... normally that's how it is here in the PI

My motto is consistent-consistent-consistent.

My wife already has had a Passport for years, all documents collected so far in the P.I. are her maiden name.

I don't need any (additional) confusion here in the Philippines.

I'll worry about name changes after she gets to the U.S.

Besides it is somewhat of an 'oriental' tradition to retain the maiden (family) name anyway, not to mention the Spanish habit.
