Overlapping household sizes on two I-864

Dear Community,

I am wondering if you are up to do a little math with me? So here is the thing:

My wife is filing the I-864 for me. Our household size is 1 (her) + 1 (me) = 2.

His dad as a sponsor also doing it. He files jointly with his wife, and on his last tax return he claimed his wife and all of his three children: my wife, and her two siblings = household size of 6 including me.

Question: with this math, I and my wife is included twice, both in my wife's and her dad's I-864. The instructions says that he should include my wife into his household size because he claimed her. But the instructions also say that don't count anyone twice! So what would be the correct household size for my wife's dad (he, his wife, 3 children including my wife, and me)?

the instructions mean on the same i864 not sponsor's and the cosponsor's or joint sponsor's

of course the beneficiary is counted twice, because both are sponsoring you

but on the section of household size, your wife cannot count you as the beneficiary and then add you up as the spouse, she is adding you up twice on her i864

in that case, the total would be incorrect of 3 as the household size, she only can count you once

Right, each household is what it is. Don't count anybody twice on the same I-864.
