heard about the K3, have questions (split topic)

Hello I'm new. I have a question. I'm a US citizen,and our application was senot to the Nebraska service center. I filled for my husband in July 2015 and we received the Noa1, our PD is July 7, 2015. I still haven't heard anything and I have read it may take 5 to 8 months to get approved (NOA2). So i heard about the K-3, can we try to file for a K-3 and see if we get approved quicker or should we just waitjust wait? If it is better to apply for the K -3 what is the process?

But you need to know that as appealing as it is, applying for the k3 is probably a complete waste of time and money. I didn't realize this when our lawyer recommended it for us. The USCIS haven't officially said that they aren't offering k3's anymore, but they aren't granting them either. They just put your k3 (I-129f) petition in the same file as your cr1 (I-130) and process them together and then "administratively close" the k3. Basically... It's just a nope. :-(

Thank you for the link and information. I'll will let him know. I think we won't go the K-3 route.
