Hi folks. I have the following proofs of my fiancee's income:

1. an employer letter showing projected income for this year at comfortably over the poverty threshold (PT)

2. a bank letter showing not direct deposits but a statement that, again, a comfortably above PT figure has been deposited into her account over the last nine months (since it was opened)

3. months of recent pay stubs that go up to this September that, when combined (as she has two jobs) are also comfortable for the year to date, as in they're already over PT and we have 3 months left of the year after they end

4. copy of the 2014 W2 with, again, an above PT figure.

My only worry is that the fact that the employer letter is a partial projection (projected from earnings up to August) and the bank letter doesn't show dates/frequencies/sizes of deposits. Bearing in mind the combined evidence, is this likely to cause any issues?

Also: do you have to include months of paystubs, or just the most recent few that show the year to date?

Be advised that London will accept the I-134 with so much as an employer letter and nothing else needed. In our experience we only put data on the form relating to salary and nothing else. We used an employer letter and a tax transcript. My sister's employer did not put 'projected earnings' (suppose it would not hurt) on the letter, but stated the salary she earned for the tax filing year, which matched with the transcript. There were no problems with it.

Okay. Thank you. So you think the employer letter with projected income for this year and a supporting W-2 for last year would be enough?

An employer letter will be enough stating how much a month she makes right now. It would be good to include that she is permanent or full time just so they know it's not a seasonal job selling Christmas trees, if that makes sense. The embassy can multiply by 12 months. If it is a variable amountt each month then a yearly sum can be worked out and reported if the employer is willing to do that. Anything else is simply extra, but why the bank statement worry? Not needed. I think last year's W2 is weaker than current paycheck showing year to date.

In actuality, they will glance at it and not even discuss it with you because it is nicely over the required amount. It is really that easy.

Okay. Funny how it still feels so tenuous. Her employer letter has average monthly earnings, projected income for this year based on that figure, her starting date (several years ago) and the fact that she's permanent and 'in good standing'. That will really be enough? It seems so little, somehow. I'm sure I'll still take everything else with me in a folder just in case.... not that I doubt your word :)

My only other nagging thought is that the paycheck to date is not nicely over the amount, because she earns a significant chunk of the year's money in November and December. Do you think I even need to include it initially, or just keep it in reserve?

Thank you.

Be aware that the next phase (adjustment of status) you will need to supply the complete set of evidence as the I-864 is a more binding contract. So it's worth gathering all the needed items to be prepared.

It's entirely up to you. I would hand in the employment letter. It sounds perfect. When you get back to the interview room (window) if there is any question that you are lying and forged that letter, then you have other things to pull out. But guess what? London is not a consulate in a third world country rife with immigration fraud. They are not going to put you through an interrogation. They want you to succeed. They are not searching for ways to fail you.

Do you know they also have approved 100% of the poverty level? And they have approved with no I-134 at all when the beneficiary had a large chunk of savings and sponsored himself? And they have approved with nothing from the fiance and only sponsorship from the future father-in-law? They are pretty flexible.

Good point. Thank you. I'll keep them very safe.

Wow, okay. They are significantly more flexible than I thought. Thank you for sharing that. Colour me reassured.
