So I am American and I'm getting my British husband a green card. We are living in Vietnam and we've been here for over a year and have to get a police check from here. We got one a while back, but it turns out we got the wrong one (checked box 1 instead of 2) so now we have to get a new one. We went into the ministry of Justice in HCMC this time and ordered a new one and they told us it takes 3 weeks just like last time. I'm a little concerned though because I've read online recently about people going in and they tell you it's not ready and that you have to wait an additional 3 weeks. Has this ever happened to anyone in HCMC? How common is it for them to need additional time? Thanks!

coffee money helps a lot!

As far as I know, it takes about 20 days in Vietnam to get a police certificate. That happened to my step-mother and step-brother.

something is wrong, it took 5 days for my wife.

If you give them coffee money, you'll get yours faster. My step-mother gave no coffee money as it was not necessary in her opinion. I also agreed with that. So they waited for 20 days and got the police documents.

i consider coffee money as expedite option. if you want something quicker, then you have to pay extra, just like fedex, ups, usps, etc...
