Hello all.

I immigrated under a K-1 Fiance visa and we got married the day after I arrived. I'm about to file for AOS and will be filing for Advance Parole at the same time. I need Advance Parole in order to visit my father, who is terminally ill. I'd like to visit him at Christmas, but will also need to be able to leave the country at short notice if his health deteriorates suddenly.

Since its possible I will have multiple trips before my AOS comes through, I've selected the "More than one trip" option under Section 7 of the I-131.

Here's my question:

Since I know I will definitely be heading home for Christmas (if I get Advance Parole in time) should I put an estimated date of departure under Part 3, or should I leave it blank (or write "unknown") as there is a possibility I might need it before then? Would committing to a date on the form hamper my ability to leave at an earlier time, or could it potentially speed up my processing time as they'll know I need it by a certain date?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's helpful to know you can just write "unknown" as I'm working on getting my K1 AOS documents together ahead of time to be able to file RIGHT away after my fiancée and I get married next Saturday (14th!). I know I'll have at least a wedding if not two I would like to be able to get to that would likely be before my AOS clears and I've got my conditional green card.
