My wife's green card recently arrived last week. We have a quick question on whether or not her name is properly displayed on her green card. Prior to marriage, her name was: Ella aine XXX, with "Ella aine" comprising her 2 first names and XXX being her maiden name. Upon marriage, "XXX" became her middle name and she took my last name "YYY". Thus, her full legal name is now Ella aine XXX YYY, with "XXX" becoming her middle name. The permanent resident card reads: Given Name: "Ella aine" Surname: "XXX YYY". Upon first glance, her last name appears to be incorrectly displayed, as it has combined both her middle name and married name. Is it common practice for USCIS to display the middle name before the last name in the "surname" section of the greencard or should it be printed in the "given name" section after her 2 first names? Also, what is the most efficient way to remedy this problem? Should I fill out an I-90 form or would it be faster to go down the local USCIS field office?
