my uncle is the petitioner, and i'm sending his certified birth certificate and a photocopy of it to the National Visa Center. Now for the interview in the US Embassy of Bangladesh, do i have to carry the original certificate or just another certified copy would be fine.

You don't bring the petitioner's papers with you to the interview, they're part of the visa case coming from NVC. You need to bring your original papers though, the applicant's birth cert, police cert, marriage cert etc.

Oh well. My in laws were asked to bring my wife's birth certificate (original). This is the letter that was sent to my in laws with list of documents they needed to bring. So we fedexed it from here and the embassy never asked for it and returned it on day of interview without any question on it. If you can and is asked, take it. That my suggestion.

I felt odd that i'd have to carry petitioners original birth certificate to the interview.

when we needed to submit the supporting documents, i've sent in a certified photocopy/ 2 photocopies of the BC's.

right now we're waiting on the review to complete and get a checklist of items to be brought during the interview.

will let you know, once we hear anything. our interview most likely would take place sometime at the end of Feb 2016.
