Hello and welcome to VJ!

Just wanna let you know that you CAN get through this process without a lawyer as long as you don't have any situation that would complicate your case. My fiance and I did it ourselves,....and one positive thing is that our relationship became even stronger after getting through this process by ourselves. YAY!! :D

But surely, if you don't mind the money and you feel more comfy using a lawyer than doing it yourself (less stressful), then by all means, do hire one! :) good luck!

Dec 4th, 2006 NOA2 !!!!! Dang...that was fast.. thank you GOD....

Dec 12th, 2006 E-mail from NVC : Petition forwarded to US Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia

Jan 08th, 2007 Medical exam! --- Done! Dunno the result tho......... =/

We didn't use a lawyer and everything worked just fine. There is a lot of info in this site that can halp you go thru the process. I think lawyers come handy when the case is more complicated.

Yeah, I think most of us have/are! I was the same, it seemed like a LOAD of legal stuff best handled by a lawyer..but unless you have any skeletons in your or your fianc(é)e's closet, the FAQs, GUIDES and members of the forums are here for you.

I've had times when I've made simple things hard and people here have been great at giving you sound advice based on their experiences.
