Hi all!

I am new here; what a great forum for a nightmarish process.

Question that I can't seem to find a specific answer to:

I am a US citizen currently living in Munich, Germany (doing one more year of dissertation research). After this, my (German) fiancé and I plan to move back to Madison, WI, where I will finish my PhD.

On the "address of petitioner" section of the I-129F, the Adobe version ONLY lets me choose "USA" as country for my mailing address! Now I am getting nervous that somehow I have to file this from INSIDE the US, though that wouldn't make sense? Can I put my current living/mailing address in Germany (which is good until August 2016)? Then would you just suggest that I briefly explain that my fiancé and I currently live together in Germany in the cover letter? I just want to make sure this is all kosher; maybe I'm making it more complicated than it needs to be...(EeeeGad!)

Thanks so much for any help!!

Hi,

my US fiancé lived with me in Germany at the time we filed out petition. We sent the package off from Germany, no issues. Although we included a short statement explaining our situation "XY, US citizen, is currently living in Germany with fiancé XY. I am planning to return to the US to establish our US domicile in monthXY".

The mailing address - I believe we put the US address of my fiances' parents - so they received the NOA1 etc and notified us.

Hope this helps - let me know if you have more questions.

Verena :)

No, the OP is correct. The I-129F is the petition for alien fiance(e) and is used for all K visas, including both K-1 and K-3. The I-129 is the petition for non-immigrant worker, and is used for H-1B, H-1C, H-2A, H-2B, H-3, L-1, O-1, O-2, P-1, P-1S, P-2, P-2S, P-3, P-3S, Q-1 and R-1 visas.

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".
