Dual citizenship allowed with UK? Can Wife leave country during process?

Hello. My wife has a green card which she got about 5 years ago. We have a few questions regarding making her a citizen and would appreciate some insight.

1)She is currently a British Citizen with a UK passport. If we file for her Naturalization, can she keep both passports and be a citizen of both places?

2)Once we apply for the N-400, will she be able to leave the country, and if so, how long?

3)How long do greencards generally last? My wifes card expires in 2021, does that mean she can be a permanent resident until then? After that, can she review her green card, or does she have to apply for citizenship?

1) Yes.

2) Yes - for the normal amount of time that an LPR can. Trips of up to six months would usually not be an issue. She should be careful to keep any trips short so as not to break her continuous residence.

3) She never has to apply for citizenship if that is her wish. She could continue to renew her green card every decade; it's entirely up to her.

When you APPLY for the N-400, there are appointments to attend, so she wouldn't want to leave the country and miss those. If you mean once the N-400 is APPROVED and the U.S. Citizenship is granted, then she applies for a US passport. After she has a passport, she can travel and leave the country for as long as she wants. She is American at that point and no longer under any immigration rules.
